1970s retelling of the Frankenstein story with Rock Hudson as the scientist and Barbara Carrera as the 'creature' he grows from Embryo to Woman in four and a half weeks.
Also stars Roddy McDowall, Diane Ladd and Dr Joyce Brothers.
This movie was reissued in the 1980s a "Created to Kill".
Public domain due to the omission of a required copyright notice. Sourced from a 30 year old Betamax tape.

Better quality copy?
I agree about the quality of this transfer. But this is typical for this uploader (video-cellar). All of his uploads are of the same sloppy quality. I found a better copy that someone took a little pride in doing somewhere else.

Standard mad scientist fare
One of Rock Hudson's rare excursions into science fiction, as a doctor/scientist delving into Things Which Men Weren't Meant To Know. Barbara Carrera's exotic good looks help distract from some of the more implausible plot developments. Roddy McDowell unjustly gets only one small scene as a self-important chessmaster. Unintentional humor shows up in the first act with two dogs. This film transfer has a bottom screen artifact through the entire picture.

Inspiration For Splice?
Not a bad flick all in all. Somewhat cheesy & unrealistic at points, but enjoyable none the less.
I just watched the streaming version but it looks like the source tape was of low quality. If we are to get a higher resolution copy it will need to come from a different source.
Having read reviews for a recent movie called Splice, it seems they may have used this movie as inspiration.

Terrible.
I never saw this when it came out, and somehow missed it up until tonight. I suppose had I seen it back when, it would have seemed better. Let's just say it's no "It's Alive". Fans of Rock Hudson may enjoy it for that reason (though his "Noooooo!!" at the end was really sappy.

Rock was a very good actor
Rock Hudson had to work in a nasty Hollywood "Star System" but this movie proves he was a hard working actor worthy of his pay.
I contend that if he were to be alive today, he would be right up there with Dustin and Jeff.

video size
Would it be possible to upload a higher resolution copy of this? This one is only 240p so it won't look good on DVD.

No Audio - Again!
This is another case where I downloaded a film that had no audio when I burned it to DVD-R. I chose the Divx, which was actually AVI. I was really looking forward to watching this too.

Old sources
Thank you for uploading this one. Barbara Carrera is a hottie, and this is a cool flick. I was going to put up this one myself and my source material (VHS) isn't much more recent than yours. Mine came in a box that was way bigger than the tape, remember those?
