Capcom and Sunsoft Announce Clock Tower 3

The PlayStation 2 will be the recipient of this upcoming sequel. First pics and game details inside.

At a meeting held in Tokyo today, Capcom announced plans to bring the latest in the Clock Tower series of titles to the PS2. You'll recall the original Clock Tower game as having appeared from Human. This sequel, titled Clock Tower 3, is a joint production between Sunsoft and Capcom.

The game is being developed by a few well known designers, both from within and outside of the game industry. Taking the directorial helm is Kinji Fukasaku, a leader in the film industry. Character designs are being handled by Keita Amamiya who did the designs for Zeiram and Mirai Ninja (we presume this last production refers to the Namco arcade title). The scenario is being handled by Flagship's Masushi Sugimura, who produced the scenario for Devil May Cry. Finally, the game's music is being worked on by Kouji Kubo.

We know little about the actual game itself at this point. The story takes place in 1900s London and features Alyssa, the young daughter in a hotel, as its main character. Numerous homicides have been occurring in the area, and as expected, these homocides have yet to be explained.

The game is quite early at this point. The team is currently in casting phase, looking for actors to motion capture. At the unveiling today, Mr. Fukasaku, revealed the size of his search. The team has auditioned over 200 people for the motion capture of the main character, but that's not too high considering Fukasaku auditioned over 800 people for his previous non-videogame project (the numbers proved quite surprising for Capcom developers, Shinji Mikami and Yoshika Okamoto). With development at such an early stage, don't expect to see the game for a while. Additionally, Fukasaku commented that as this is his first game directorial project, he'd like to take it slowly when it comes to the non-cinematic stuff such as player control.

You'll have to wait a bit for the game, but you can at least see what it looks like so far. These two pictures come our way from PC Game Watch.
