The Kinks' Dave Davies will be performing his first UK show in 13 years.

As lead guitarist and co-founder of the Kinks, Davies will perform in London to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the revolutionary guitar sound he created, which launched the band to international stardom.

The group behind hits such as 'Lola' and 'You Really Got Me' split in 1996, but in recent years Davies has collaborated with his sons. In 2010 he worked with his son Russell Davies to create the rock electronica album The Aschere Project, and he is currently working with his other son, Martin, on their second documentary film Dave Davies Rock 'N Roll Journey.

Davies is also working on a new album and is planning more shows for 2014.

Dave Davies' brother and former bandmate Ray Davies has also been gigging in the UK of late, and in 2010 released a duets album See My Friends, which featured Mumford & Sons, Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi among others.

The brothers revealed earlier this year that a Kinks reunion is close to happening.

Dave Davies will be performing at the Barbican Hall on Friday, April 11. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (February 28) at 9am.
