Wolverine rules the ring! Hugh Jackman wrestles 'Magneto' during WWE Raw appearance

Many actors will say that the press tour is often the hardest part of making movies.

But on Monday that wasn't the case for Hugh Jackman, who appeared on WWE Raw to promote X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

It was certainly a strange day at the office for the 45-year-old, who would be confronted by a villainous wrestler dressed as Wolverine's X-Men nemesis, Magneto.

Jackman started out the segment by burying the hatchet with Dolph Ziggler, a wrestler he had punched and cost a victory during his last appearance on the show back in 2011.

But their new found friendship would be interrupted by Damien Sandow, who bizarrely dressed himself up as Magneto in order to taunt Jackman.

Sandow would attempt to show off his powers of magnetism, but the Australian actor would save the cringeworthy segment by hitting the villain with a perfect hip toss, a staple wrestling maneuver.

The leading X-Man first appeared on Raw back in 2011 when he punched then-US Champion Ziggler allowing underdog Zack Ryder to pick up a surprise win.

He was on Raw then to promote Real Steel, which would end up grossing just under $300million.

With the last Wolverine film earning over $400million, X-Men: Days Of Future Past looks to potentially be the actor's biggest hit yet.

It hits cinemas around the world at the end of May.
