Dodgers go all right-handed, including Jose Peraza, vs. Nationals

Brad Barr-USA TODAY Sports

LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers return home to face the Nationals, and will stack right-handed batters against left-handed starter Gio Gonzalez.

Most notable in the lineup is Jose Peraza at second base, called up for an injured Howie Kendrick.

Scott Van Slyke starts at first base for Adrian Gonzalez, Kiké Hernandez starts in center field for Joc Pederson, and Alex Guerrero gets the call in left field with Alberto Callaspo at third base.

Manager Don Mattingly said it was just a day off for Gonzalez, who dealt with neck tightness and a minor calf issue during the road trip.

A. Ellis starts at catcher in place of Yasmani Grandal, as has been the norm against southpaws this season.

Justin Turner remains on the disabled list, and will likely be activated in a couple of days, but not on Tuesday, the first day he would be eligible to return. Turner has taken live batting practice and did indoor running at Camelback Ranch in Arizona, and various other exercises.
