Ato Essandoh, one of the actors in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming 1970s HBO drama Vinyl, has joined the cast of Universal’s newest Bourne movie.
Matt Damon is back on board the spy thriller as is director Paul Greengrass.
Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones are among the new additions to the studio’s lucrative franchise. Julia Stiles, who appeared in the previous Bourne movies, is also returning.
Character and plot details are being kept encrypted and classified.
Essandoh has appeared, among others, in the movies Blood Diamond and Django Unchained, as well as on shows such as Treme and, more recently, Elementary. He previously played Dr. Matthew Freeman on BBC America’s gritty TV series Copper.
Essandoh, who is repped by Abrams Artists Agency, Sinclair Management and attorney Ryan S. LeVine, has also appeared in stage opposite Meryl Streep.
