Screen Media Films has picked up the U.S. rights to Ten Thousand Saints, the drama that stars Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, Emily Mortimer, Julianne Nicholson, Emile Hirsch, and Ethan Hawke.
Screen Media plans a late summer 2015 release with a 25-market theatrical and day-and-date VOD release.
Boyhood’s Hawke plays Les, an estranged, hippie father who abandoned his family. When his son Jude (Butterfield) is on the brink of trouble, his mother sends him to live with Hawke in New York City. Jude must adapt from the sticks of Vermont to the fast paced New York, while trying to reconnect with his father.
Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman wrote and directed the feature. Anne Carey, Amy Nauiokas, Luca Borghese, Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray produced the film. Charlotte Ubben, Pamela Hirsch and Berman exec produced.
