Bizarre suicide of Bible John.
The man police believe was Bible John may have killed himself for a THRILL.John Irvine McInnes died in a pool of blood after slashing a huge artery in his armpit.
And the bizarre death may well have been the ultimate thrill of a sick psychopath, it was claimed last night
Police hope to exhume McInnes - dead for 16 years - to confirm if he was Bible John, using DNA evidence.
His death certificate shows he bled to death, aged 41, after slashing the brachial artery, which runs from the armpit to the elbow.
Experts say blood would have spurted out at high pressure, killing him within minutes.
Psychiatrist Dr Prem Misra said : "The picture is of a psychopath.
"There is a possibility that he got a kick out of this. It may have given him pleasure to bleed himself to death."
Dr Misra said such perversion was very rare - he had seen four similar cases in 20 years.
McInnes died at the family home in Queen Street, Stonehouse, Lanarkshire, in 1980.
If he was Bible John, he may have become frustrated as his kick lessened after each kill.
Dr Misra, of Parkhead Hospital, Glasgow, said McInnes may then have taken his own life - in search of the ultimate thrill.
