WITH the denim explosion still taking the fashion world by storm, ** Karl Lagerfeld ** has joined the bandwagon. The now superslim design maestro has hooked up with trendy street label Diesel to come up with his own denim line which is due to hit shops in July. The new Lagerfeld Gallery by Diesel collection, which began simply as two denim jackets and two pairs of jeans designed by Lagerfeld and realised by Diesel, has now grown into a full-blown denim line, with a pair of jeans priced at £1,260. "I am honoured to have met this fashion icon of our times," said president and founder of Diesel, Renzo Rosso. (May 10 2002, AM)
