Cleveland Cavaliers forward Channing Frye said he will retire at the end of this season.
Frye, 35, made the announcement on Twitter on Friday. It confirmed the rumor that he is planning to retire that began when he posted a picture on Instagram after the Cavs' game against the New York Knicks, commenting that it was his last time playing in Madison Square Garden.
Frye was selected from Arizona by the Knicks with the eighth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft.

Frye has played 13 seasons in the NBA but is best known for his initial stint in Cleveland during the 2015-2016 season, when he was a key player in the team's championship run. Frye also helped the LeBron James-led Cavs back to the Finals the following year, and they lost in a rematch with the Warriors.
The Cavaliers traded Frye midway through the 2017-18 season to the Los Angeles Lakers before signing him to a one-year, minimum-salary deal in the offseason.
Frye is averaging 3.3 points in 9.5 minutes per game for the Cavaliers this season.
