Star Wars is coming to the small screen!

The first official footage of the highly-anticipated Star Wars television spin-off The Mandalorian premiered Sunday at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago.

During the panel, executive producer Jon Favreau and director Dave Filoni introduced stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano and Carl Weathers.

A new image was released of The Mandalorian holding a blaster and standing around a corner. “He’s a gunfighter, and a bounty hunter,” Favreau told the crowd.

“The Mandalorian is a mysterious, lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy,” Pascal added. ”Some might say he has questionable moral character, in line with some of our best Westerns, and some good samurai [films.] And he’s a badass.”

“A never been told story during a never been seen timeframe,” he says.

The clip shows BTS scenes of a starship, alien crowds, and Pascal’s character “hunting down quarries.” Favreau also says the show will not only satisfy longtime fans but introduce a new generation to the galaxy far, far away.

The series also stars Werner Herzog, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito and more.

The Mandalorian takes place in the time between the end of the original trilogy and The Force Awakens. According to Favreau, who also serves as a writer, the show follows a “lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy.”

“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe,” he stated on Instagram. “The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

The Mandalorian, which is set to premiere Nov 12, will be one of the first projects launched on Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+ in fall 2019.
