After that, you can either wait patiently for you prize notification from NOA headquarters in Washington or sit alone in the dark and shake your head at the horror you've just committed to videotape and inexplicably dropped in the mailbox where virtually anybody can find it.
Let's tell them what they'll win, Johnny!
One grand prize winner will get an official Donkey Kong 64 bundle, with Expansion Pak, a trip to Nintendo of America headquarters in beautiful Redmond, Washington to record your new intro and, this is the best part, the video of your DK Rap remix will be posted on the official Donkey Kong site for as long as the site exists. There's no telling how many of your friends, family and neighbors will be downloading your Star Search audition quality performance from Nintendo's server should you win that big enchilada of a grand prize. A rumor has been going around that Nintendo might just leave the official DK64 website up and running forever and ever.
You have until January 14 of next year to submit your entries, which will be evaluated for creativity, musical talent and knowledge of Donkey Kong 64. You've got to be original, able to carry a tune and familiar enough with the game to take home the top prize. While the benefits to owning a new version of a game that you've just rewritten the intro for speak for themselves, don't underestimate that trip to Nintendo's headquarters. There's all kinds of neat stuff to see there and you can even touch some of the more entertaining items like official Nintendo E3 display booth. One of the precious few Virtual Boys in existence is behind glass, though.
IGN64 will have more on the DK Rap Attack Contest as soon as there's more facts to use as fodder.
