Oerlikon Acquires Sulzer Metco

Oerlikon, the Pfäffikon SZ, Switzerland-based parent company of Oerlikon Balzers, has signed an agreement to acquire Metco, a division of Sulzer. Metco will combine with Oerlikon’s existing coating segment, expanding the company’s presence and capabilities in this area. The combined businesses will form the new Surface Solutions Segment and will operate 130 facilities with more than 110 coating centers in 35 countries.
