CSI: Miami's return to Five last night pulled in the drama's best ever ratings, early figures suggest.
The seventh season debut, in which it was revealed that Haratio - played by David Caruso - had faked his own death, attracted 3.77m (18.2%) to Five, making it the most-watched programme during the 9pm hour.
Its nearest rival, a repeat of Waking The Dead, put in 3.14m (15.1%) for BBC One.
The penultimate episode of ITV1's Ladette To Lady was seen by 3.07m (14.8%), The Conspiracy Files - focusing on the the 7/7 London bombings - had 1.4m (6.8%) for BBC Two, and 750k (3.6%) tuned in for Channel 4's Dispatches: Terror In Mumbai.
Holby City led the 8pm hour, logging a solid 5.39m (27.7%), and the second part of ITV1's World's Best Diet, featuring Linda Robson and Carole Malone, delivered 2.72m (14%).
BBC Two's Today At Wimbledon interested 1.55m (8%), 1.1m (5.7%) watched Monster Trucks on Five, and Property Snakes And Ladders managed 1.06m (5.5%) for Channel 4.
The 10pm Big Brother highlights show, which saw Halfwit and Sree nominated for eviction by the other housemates, drew 1.78m (10.5%).
Overall, BBC One came top during primetime with an average share of 21.7% to ITV1's 17.1%. Five was third with 9.5%, followed by BBC Two with 6.9% and Channel 4's 5.8% (+1: 1%).
Elsewhere, Sci Fi's Knight Rider managed 224k (1.27%) during the 8pm hour. Dollhouse followed at 9pm, grabbing 115k (0.61%).
The latest episode of Ghost Whisperer performed well for Living, putting in 374k (2%) during the 9pm hour.
