道徳

道徳（どうとく）は、英: morality（羅: moralitas, 原義は「習慣・適切な振舞い」）の訳語に当てられたものである。漢語における「道徳」は、もともとは中国の古典を由来とする観念であり、「道」と「徳」という２つの考えからなる。道とは、人が従うべきルールのことであり、徳とは、そのルールを守ることができる状態をいう^[1]。道徳的規範（どうとくてききはん）や道徳性（どうとくせい）ともいう。あるいは類義語の倫理（りんり、英: ethics、エシクスまたはエシックス）はいくつかの意味をもち、道徳を表すことが多い。
