比較宗教学におけるセレマ

ヴィースバーデンの自由カトリック教会の司教フェデリコ・トリィは、そのドイツ語の著書 Thelema — Im Spannungsfeld zwischen Christentum, Logentradition und New Aeon の中で、キリスト教の弁証法的帰結としてセレマを提起した。トリィにとってキリスト教はキリストの共同体として存在しているが、トリィはセレマを世界に対する必然的な個人主義的反応と見ている^[83]。

トリィは、「救済の歴史」（Heilsgeschichte）との関連でクロウリー主義のセレマを論じている。トリィは、クロウリーの「救済の歴史」を、全世界（すなわち神の意志）は統合（錬金術の常套句である「凝固」 coagula に類似している）すべきであるとするものの一つと見なしている。惹きつけ合い結びつく（「愛は法なり、意志の下の愛こそが」）という形をとる「愛」というものは、普遍的原理であり、それゆえに自然宗教の概念に類似している。（トリィにとって）主な違いは、キリスト教による全世界（"Ganzheit"）の救済は「唯我論的」な男によって成されることはありえないということである。トリィはクロウリーを、才能はあったが失敗した芸術家もしくは「秘儀伝授者」であり、悪魔主義者ではなかったと見ている^[83]。
