Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan on Thursday pushed back against President Trump’s threat to “take back” the city after protesters camped out around a police station near downtown, vowing to resist any effort by Trump to use force to disband the demonstration.

“We do not need anyone, including the president, to try to sow further divide, further distrust and misinformation,” Durkan (D) said in a news conference. “The threat to invade Seattle, to divide and incite violence in our city is not only unwelcome, it would be illegal.”
