Taipei, Aug. 1 (CNA) The mercury in Hsinwu (新屋), Taoyuan, soared to 38.7 degrees Celsius at 11:05 a.m. Monday, on a par with this year's record high temperature set in Taipei June 1, according to the Central Weather Bureau.
