Gules a Lion passant guardant in chief two Civic Wreaths Or on a Chief of Augmentation wavy Argent a representation of Algiers and on the dexter side a Man of War bearing the Flag of an Admiral of the Blue all proper

Crest:

Upon Waves of the Sea the Stern of a Wrecked Ship inscribed "Dutton" (East Indiaman) upon a Rocky Shore off Plymouth Garrison (i.e. in the background a Hill upon the top of which a Tower with a Flag hoisted)

Supporters:

Dexter:  a Lion guardant Or navally crowned Azure resting the sinister hind paw on an Increscent Argent;  Sinister:   a Human Figure intended to represent a Christian Slave naked from the waist upwards a Cloth around the loins and thighs and legs habited in Azure and Argent striped Trousers holding in the right hand a Cross Or and in his left Fetters broken proper

Mottoes:

Above the Crest:  Deo Adjuvante (God being my helper); Below the Arms:  Algiers
