BTS' 'Dynamite' Hits No. 1 on Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Chart, Cardi B's 'WAP' Tops Global 200

The two new charts rank songs based on streaming and sales data from more than 200 territories.

BTS' "Dynamite" lights it up at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, rising from No. 2.

Plus, Cardi B's "WAP," featuring Megan Thee Stallion, leads the Billboard Global 200 tally.

The two charts (the latest of which are dated Sept. 26) premiered a week ago and rank songs based on streaming and sales activity culled from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Nielsen Music/MRC Data. The Billboard Global 200 is inclusive of worldwide data and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart comprises data from territories excluding the U.S.

Chart rankings are based on a weighted formula incorporating official-only streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of audio and video music services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from around the world, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from the charts' calculations.

'WAP' No. 1 for Second Week on Billboard Global 200

Cardi B's "WAP," featuring Megan Thee Stallion, maintains control of the Billboard Global 200 in the chart's second week. The song dominates with 93.2 million global streams (down from 100.9 million a week earlier) and 17,000 global downloads sold (down from 23,000) in the week ending Sept. 17.

BTS' "Dynamite" repeats at No. 2 on the Global 200 with 79.1 million streams (down from 83.4 million) and 29,000 sold (down from 36,000).

For a second straight frame, "WAP" was the most-streamed song of the week globally and "Dynamite" was the top-selling title.

The rest of the Global 200's top five is likewise steady, as, holding from Nos. 3 through 5, respectively, are 24kGoldn's "Mood," featuring iann dior (63.1 million streams, 12,000 sold); Maluma's all-Spanish-language "Hawái" (85.5 million streams, 3,000 sold); and Drake's "Laugh Now Cry Later," featuring Lil Durk (45.5 million streams, 5,000 sold).

Elsewhere in the Global 200's top 10, Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo's "Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)" keeps at No. 6; The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" stays at No. 7; DaBaby's "Rockstar," featuring Roddy Ricch, rises 9-8; Harry Styles' "Watermelon Sugar" pushes 10-9; and Pop Smoke's "For the Night," featuring Lil Baby and DaBaby, enters the top 10, climbing 12-10.

BTS' 'Dynamite' Takes Over Atop Billboard Global 200 Excl. U.S.

BTS' "Dynamite" ascends 2-1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, on the strength of 67.4 million streams (down from 70.9 million the previous week) and 18,000 sold (up from 15,000) in territories outside the U.S. in the week ending Sept. 17.

The South Korean septet's smash, and the group's first all-English-language single, dethrones "Hawái" by Colombian star Maluma, as the latter track drops to No. 2 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart with 77.4 million streams (down from 85.3 million) and 1,000 sold (essentially even week-over-week).

The songs at Nos. 3, 4 and 5, respectively, on the Global Excl. U.S. chart repeat their rankings from a week ago: Cardi B's "WAP" (53.5 million streams, 5,000 sold); 24kGoldn's "Mood" (40.9 million streams, 5,000 sold); and Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo's "Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)" (33.6 million streams, 9,000 sold).

Rounding out the Global Excl. U.S. chart's top 10, The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" lifts 7-6; Harry Styles' "Watermelon Sugar" ascends 9-7; Sech's "Relacion" holds at No. 8; Blackpink and Selena Gomez's "Ice Cream" slides 6-9; and Ozuna's "Caramelo" holds at No. 10.

For a second straight week, while one song (Maluma's "Hawái") in the Global 200's top 10 is sung in all-Spanish, three songs in the Global Excl. U.S. chart's top 10 are either all- or almost-all Spanish-language, with "Hawai" again joined by "Relacion" and "Caramelo."
