Summary

For most of the literature competitors, it is unknown whether they were entered in the Dramatic, Epic or Lyric Works competition. A few of these works are of interest\\: future IOC president [Avery Brundage] submitted The Olympic Games, while the wife of Charles Lindbergh, Anne, submitted North to the Orient, telling of their flight to the Orient by the Great Circle Route in 1931. The book Dämon Himalaya (Demon Himalaya) by [Günter Oskar Dyhrenfurth] was not awarded any prize, but his exploits in the Himalayas did earn him a gold medal in alpinism.
