For the third consecutive year and fourth time in five seasons, Memphis will be represented in the Super Bowl thanks to New England Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski.

When the Patriots take the field for Super Bowl LIII at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sunday (5:30 p.m., CBS), Gostkowski will set a Super Bowl record with his sixth appearance, breaking Adam Vinatieri's record for most by a kicker.

Gostkowski is also two field goals away from tying Vinatieri's Super Bowl record of seven career field goals made. Should New England defeat the Los Angeles Rams, he also would be the first Memphis player to win three Super Bowls.

Charlie Babb won a pair of Super Bowls with the Miami Dolphins in 1973 and 1974.

In his 13th season, Gostkowski was ranked 10th in field goals made and 20th in field-goal accuracy. He remained one of the NFL’s leading scorers with 130 points this season, good for sixth in the league.

Last season, Memphis was represented in the Super Bowl with both kickers in Gostkowski and Jake Elliott, who helped the Philadelphia Eagles win by converting three field goals.
