Twitch viewers will be able to watch 11 National Football League games this year, thanks to Amazon’s renewed streaming deal with the NFL.

The NFL announced today that it has renewed its partnership with Amazon to broadcast Thursday Night Football games via Amazon Prime Video for the 2018 and 2019 NFL seasons. Amazon Prime Video will stream 11 Thursday Night Football games, broadcast by Fox, starting Sept. 27, when the Los Angeles Rams host the Minnesota Vikings.

Those 11 Thursday night games will be available to Amazon Prime members and on Twitch — apparently without the need for an Amazon Prime subscription. We’ve reached out to Twitch for confirmation.

The NFL and Amazon will “collaborate on additional NFL content opportunities and enhanced fan viewing experiences, including making the games available on Twitch’s interactive social video service,” the league said in an announcement.

While the shared broadcast of NFL games on Twitch is a product of Amazon’s ownership of the streaming platform, the availability of pro football league broadcasts is a big get for Twitch. Twitch currently has a deal with the National Basketball Association to stream G League games, the NBA’s official minor league basketball organization.
