Skin, it is so cool to catch up with you. It seems like you have been all over the place since the beginning of the year. Your career has really blown up the past few months. What’s goin’ on?!

I don’t know! I guess people just like what I have to bring to the table. I got into the industry almost as an experiment, just to see if I like it. I never saw myself being a porn star. I’ve always loved sex and I love embracing erotica. When I was just a model I worked with very sexual themes but I never saw myself actually doing porn! (laughs) I just did it and everyone liked it. I guess you can tell I enjoy myself! There’s not really any girls that look like me in the industry.

I believe that’s what is getting everyone’s attention. You have so many different looks and can fit into any situation. You’re one of the hottest girls in the industry.

Thanks, that’s very nice to hear! I guess I’ve always been the odd one out. I grew up in Scotland and from a very young age I’ve always been the different one. I don’t try to be different I just always have been. The industry is dominated by the normal porno look: blondes with big boobs. I feel like it’s opening up some. Now you see all different kinds of girls. Porn is definitely evolving and I’m very happy to be a part of that.

And if only the business end could evolve. So much has happened the past few years that’s killing the porn industry. The same things have happened to the music industry.

Everything is being pirated now. It’s a really big deal. And all the tube sites. It’s really annoying because people are oblivious that it’s even a problem. I’ll get people on Twitter saying they saw me on a tube site and that they loved it. They mean it in a nice way but it’s like, “DUDE! You’re stealing my work!” That’s like telling your favorite band you downloaded their music for free.

Let’s jump back a little. You mentioned you grew up in Scotland. Tell me what it was like growing up there.

I won’t talk bad about growing up in Scotland. I love Scotland! I see it as my home. When I first moved there I was four. I even remember back then not liking it because everyone made fun of me because I was black and American. I experienced a lot of bullying which I think actually benefited me. It hardened me up a little bit and made me realize the real world at a young age. I love that I grew up in another country and the people I’m close to there are amazing. It’s always nice to have a different outlook on things. As an American growing up outside of America it was always interesting seeing how the rest of the world sees this country. It’s very enlightening.

I noticed on your blog you posted a picture when you were 15 or 16 and wrote that people really gave you a hard time at that age and you rebelled and turned to the “gods of metal”. Tell me how you rebelled and what kind of music you started listening to then.

I was raised Christian and the music I was allowed to listen to was mostly Christian bands. When I eventually started listening to metal, the metal kids were the only group in school that accepted me even thought I was different. I was always bullied but the goth kids liked me. I was like, “Fuck this!” and decided to hang out with the metal kids for a while! I did the whole underage drinking and smoking thing. When I first started getting into rock music I listened to Iron Maiden, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Deftones, Korn, Cradle of Filth. I loved System of a Down. I listen to a lot of genres of metal, from old school to nu skool.

You can’t get more anti-Christian than a little Cradle of Filth!

Oh yeah! And I’ll never forget the first time I brought a Marilyn Manson CD home! My parents were so mad! They took my CDs away from me. I was really bad. I got a little crazy and said I didn’t want to go to church anymore and I didn’t believe in that crap. I’d go to church looking as crazy as possible just to try and put them off of even wanting to bring me again! I remember stealing the Marilyn Manson CD back from them and blacking out the name on the side of the case so they couldn’t see who it was. (laughs) They’re cool now, though. My parents are really understanding. They’re born again Christians so they went crazy and rebelled when they were that age, too! They understand my way of thinking – even if they don’t agree with it. They realize I’m not going to turn into a satanist and sacrifice animals! (laughs)

So you celebrated a birthday last month. Would you please elaborate on how you spent your time off to celebrate? I’ve seen pictures!

I am heavily into BDSM. Even before I entered the porn world I would go to fetish clubs in London all the time. I’ve always been very intrigued…the kind of porn I watch – I started watching porn at a very young age. I think I was seven when I watched my first adult video! (laughs) I like being shocked. I feel like it gets me off more when it’s so wrong. The first porn I ever watched from beginning to end without fast-forwarding was a shoot for Kink.com. It turned me on so much and I was so excited when I finally got to work for Kink for the first time. It’s really intense. There’s something about suffering through something, getting through it and feeling like you survived and you’re so tough. Combine that with the fact that you’ve got all these endorphins running through your body from the pain and then being forced to cum on top of that – it’s like being on drugs. It’s like being so high and feeling so good but it’s a natural high your body creates. That’s why I like it. The problem with me liking things like this is I work so much in mainstream porn that I can’t show up on porn sets covered in bruises! That’s not gonna work! (laughs) I very nicely asked my agent if I could have some time off so I could go visit my master who works for Kink. We did a shoot where he basically just beats the shit out of me. I told him I wanted to be completely destroyed. I knew this was my one chance to do it. He did and it was very painful but it was the best shoot ever! I was so happy afterwards. It got to the point where I had to request “Please don’t hit me anymore! Just fuck me!” (laughs) I had reached my limit but getting there was really awesome. It was the best birthday I’ve had in as long as I can remember.

Earlier you mentioned your modeling was always kind of sexual. Did it just seem like a natural progression to at least try porn?

I did my first real photo shoot when I was 19 and it was a nude photo shoot. I was flown to LA to shoot for this soft porn website. I’ve always kinda been in the adult world but I honestly never saw myself doing hardcore porn. I was afraid that if I made porn my job that I would get sick of it and I didn’t want to do that because I love sex. I never want to get sick of sex! A few years later I had a chance to go to Paris and shoot a girl/girl scene for Burning Angel. I ended up doing my first boy/girl scene and my first boy/girl anal scene all in that one week! (laughs) I just jumped right in and realized I loved it! One other reason I didn’t want to do hardcore porn is because I was afraid of what people might think. I came to the conclusion that anybody that’s going to look down on me for doing a boy/girl scene is probably going to be looking down on me for doing some of the fetish style shoots that I’ve done in the past. I might as well just jump in and get paid! (laughs)

I heard somewhere that you like to sing. If you were to cut a record tomorrow what would it sound like?

It would sound like a cross between Billie Holliday and Peaches mixed together with maybe some Deftones and Tool. I just like mixing it all up! My style of singing is very soulful but I’d want to mix that with a little bit of techno and some heavy bass and rock ‘n roll. That’s what I’m personally into. I like rock and dance music.

In your blog you mention you have a very girl bedroom but a very “naughty” drawer. How naughty are we talking? What do you have in it?

I have dildos, vibrators, butt plugs, a large collection of clothespins and nipple clamps, riding crops, paddles, this little torture device that’s like a spinning wheel with spikes on it, masks, ball gags, lots of stuff for just in case! (laughs)

I’m sure there are people out there that picture your entire home as some sort of sex dungeon!

I think so! I’ve always been a very homely type of person. I’m very OCD about my stuff so I like things to be very neat and clean. I like having flowers and plants. You can tell when you walk into my house that whoever lives here isn’t quite normal. The first thing you see when you open my door is my stripper pole. I have portraits of naked ladies and some of myself hanging around and random books about erotica. To the naked eye it looks like a grandma lives here but when you take a closer look you realize maybe not! (laughs)

The devil is in the details! What are some things you’ve got coming up we should know about?

The biggest thing is “Revenge Of The Petites”, which I star in along with Marie McRae. That’s a really big deal. It’s really interesting because the way they shot it is in a very mainstream kind of way. I know with a lot of the crew they used that it was their first time being on a porn set. They were all used to working in mainstream movies and TV. They way it’s shot is beyond porn. It’s a lot more about the story than the sex. The website for that is PetitesMovie.com. Something else I’m really excited about is I shot an X-Men parody right before Christmas and I played Storm. I’m really excited about that coming out. I’m working on my website now. I have my blog but I’m working on an actual member’s site. I’m going to start feature dancing so I’m going to be able to meet more of my fans on the road on a regular basis. I’m doing lots of traveling. I’m going to Barcelona, Miami – it’s going to be absolutely crazy this year! It’s been a crazy ride so far and I can’t wait to see what else this industry has in store for me!
