In belaboring the sins of some religious people, we could feel
superior to all of them. Moreover, we could avoid looking at some of
our own shortcomings. Self-righteousness, the very thing that we had
contemptuously condemned in others, was our own besetting evil.

Elle, you owe me a wireless keyboard for that. :^)
Padders, you lurking? Do you remember the link to the to the picture
of the penis bucket (or rather the penis boo-kay, in Hyacinth's world
[1])?
It's an astounding image and should have a prominent place on the
Penis Casino's walls.
YMMV, and all other standard disclaimers apply.

[1] Hyacinth Bucket, character on the British television show "Keeping
Up Appearances", pronounces her surname as "bouquet". She's adorable.

Yes, we get Mrs. Bouquet's show over her. I quite fancy the brother-
in-law, Onslow :-) I've only ever seen "Fools and Horses" when I've
been in UK, also "Dad's Army" which I just loved. Then there was "Rising
Damp" (?) I think, so many years ago I can hardly remember. AbFab
was very popular over here. In fact, I just saw the movie Shirley
Valentine (for the umpteenth time!), and couldn't even look at the
adult Marjorie Majors without seeing Patsy and her boofed up hair
and red lipstick and long cigarette holder. I've recently begun
to watch the old Black Adder series on BBC America.
Yes, we love you Brits, we do :-)
Well. Some more than others!
