Buffalo Bills Rumors: Kiko Alonso to be replaced by Nigel Bradham following injury?
By Jack Crosby
The Buffalo Bills suffered a crushing blow on Tuesday as starting second-year linebacker Kiko Alonso went down with a torn ACL while going through offseason workouts in Oregon. In a statement released by the team on Wednesday, they confirmed the injury, as well as the fact that he will more than likely miss the entire season.

“We have updated information regarding Kiko Alonso,” said Whaley in a team statement. “Unfortunately he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee and will most likely miss the 2014 season. He will be scheduled for surgery in the near future and begin a rehabilitation program at the appropriate time. We feel badly for Kiko because he has worked very hard this offseason in preparation for the upcoming season, but we look forward to his return with his style of play that made him one of the league’s outstanding rookies in 2013.”
While the news is unfortunate, with just a little over two months until the regular season is set to get underway, a replacement must be found, and found soon.
Among the talented list of candidates on the roster already, according to Chris Brown of the Bills’ website, the man to step in could be third-year linebacker out of Florida State, Nigel Bradham.
"Bills third-year linebacker Nigel Bradham is another athletic linebacker capable of playing on the open side of the defense at the second level. The former fourth-round pick can run and hit and has the range needed for that position as well, but saw a good deal of time on the strong side in the spring."
Of course, another candidate for the position is Keith Rivers, however Bradham may be best suited, overall, for the switch to the other side.
