Svasti Sri Giriraj Chakrachudamani Narnarayanetyadi Vividha Virudavali Virajamana Manonnata Shriman Maharajadhiraja Sri Sri Srimat Maharaj Prithvi Narayan Bahadur Shamsher Jang Devanam Sada Samar Vijayinam, Maharajadhiraja of Nepal, by his second wife, H.H. Sri Sri Sri Maharani Narendra Rajya Lakshmi Devi, educ. privately. Amalidar of Dolakha 1763-1769. Succeeded on the death of his father, 11th January 1775. Crowned at the Nyasal Chowk, Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Basantapur, Katmandu, 12th January 1775. The first Nepalese ruler to codify laws in Nepal in 1776. m. H.H. Sri Sri Sri Sri Sri Maharani Rajendra Rajya Lakshmi Devi (d. from tuberculosis, at the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Basantapur, Katmandu, 13th July 1785), Regent 17th November 1777, deposed 12th August 1778 and confined as a prisoner in silver handcuffs, restored on 20th June 1779 and continued as Regent until her death, during which time the principalities of Lambjang, Kaski and Tanahun were annexed, a princess from Palpa. m. (a) Maiju Rani Maneshvari Devi (k. by sati after the birth of her son, 10th January 1778), a Newari lady. m. (b) (morganatic) Rani Bhitryani Devi (d. after 1775). He d. at Devi Ghat, Katmandu, 17th November 1777, having had issue, two sons:

Svasti Sri Giriraj Chakrachudamani Narnarayanetyadi Vividha Virudavali Virajamana Manonnata Shriman Maharajadhiraja Sri Sri Srimat Maharaj Pratap Singh Shah Bahadur Shamsher Jang Devanam Sada Samar Vijayinam, Maharajadhiraja of Nepal, by his wife, H.H. Sri Sri Sri Sri Sri Maharani Rajendra Rajya Lakshmi Devi, sometime Regent of Nepal, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 17th November 1777. Crowned at the Nyasal Chowk, Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Basantapur, Katmandu, January 1778. Reigned under the regencies of the Queen Mother and his uncle until he came of age and assumed full ruling powers, 6th June 1794. Abdicated in favour of his younger son, February 1799, becoming a mendicant under the name and title of Sri Parama Mahanirvana Ananda Swami. Forced to flee to Benares in India April 1800. Returned to Nepal and seized the regency, March 1804, Assumed the title of Mukhtiyar 1806. m. (first) at Katmandu, 1789, Sri Sri Sri Maharani Raj Rajeshwari Devi [Sri Vidya Lakshmi Devi] (k. by forced sati on the orders of Bhimsen Thapa, on the bank of the Salinadi rivulet, at Sankhu, 5th May 1806), Regent March 1799 to April 1800 and February 1803 to1804, imprisoned at Helambu 1804-1806, grand-daughter of Sri Sri Sri Raja Shiva Shah, Raja of Gulmi. m. (second) before 1793, Sri Sri Sri Maharani Subarna Prabha Devi (b. 1779), Regent for her stepson April 1800 to February 1803, daughter of Subudhi Khadka Basniyat, of Gorakpur. m. (third) at the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Basantapur, Katmandu, January 1797 (against the rules of his caste), Sri Sri Sri Bada Maharani Kantavati Devi (d. from smallpox, at Arya Ghat, Devapatam, near Pashupathi Tempa, 31st October 1799, who then became Bada Maharani, a widow from a Maithili Mishra Brahmin family near Janakpur, in the Terai. m. (fourth) Sri Sri Sri Maharani Chandravati Devi. m. (fifth) Sri Sri Sri Maharani Amara Rajeshwari Devi. m. (sixth) March 1805, Sri Sri Sri Maharani Lalita Tripura Sundari Devi (b. 1794; d.s.p. at the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Basantapur, Katmandu, 6th April 1832), Regent from 25th April 1806 until her death, daughter of a Thapa. m. (a) Shri Jetha Nani Sahib Purneshvari. m. (b) Shri Mahila Nani Sahib Mahatab. m. (c) 1804, Shri Sahila Nani Sahib Lakshmishvari, daughter of Ganesh Datta Bawdidva, a Brahmin from Tirhut, in Maithila, possibly a younger sister of Maharani Kantavati Devi. He was k. (assassinated) at the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Basantapur, Katmandu, by his half brother, 25th April 1806, having had issue, three sons and five daughters:

Svasti Sri Giriraj Chakrachudamani Narnarayanetyadi Vividha Virudavali Virajamana Manonnata Shriman Maharajadhiraja Sri Sri Srimat Maharaj Rana Bahadur Shah Bahadur Shamsher Jang Devanam Sada Samar Vijayinam, Maharajadhiraja of Nepal, by his third and principal wife, Sri Sri Sri Maharani Kantavati Devi, educ. privately. Appointed as Heir Apparent with the title of Sri Sri Sri Sri Sri Yuvarajadhiraj, soon after his birth. Succeeded on the abdication of his father, March 1799. Crowned at the Nyasal Chowk, Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Basantapur, Katmandu, 8th March 1779. Reigned under several regents until he came of age and assumed full ruling powers. m. (first) ca. 1808, H.H. Sri Sri Sri Sri Sri Maharani Sidhi Lakshmi Devi (b. ca. 1798; d. by sati at Katmandu, 20th November 1816). m. (second) H.H. Sri Sri Sri Sri Sri Maharani Gorakshya Rajya Lakshmi Devi (b. ca. 1798; d. from smallpox, at Pashupatinath, 16th December 1816). m. (a) Lakshmi (d.s.p.). m. (b) Kirtirekha (d.s.p. by sati at Katmandu, 20th November 1816). He d. from smallpox, at the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Basantapur, Katmandu, 20th November 1816, having had issue, five children, including two sons and two daughters:
