Macro, Naevius Sertorius

A favourite of the emperor Tiberius, whose minister Seianus (q.v.) he undermined and finally destroyed. By prostituting his wife Eunia to Caligula he won, for a time, the tolerance of that emperor; but, becoming disliked, he was finally forced to take his own life in the year A.D. 38 (Suet. Tib. 73).
