Game maker Rovio is adding a new character to the Angry Birds Seasons lineup — a Pink-feathered fowl that bats her eyelashes and blows bubbles at sinister green pigs.

The cute new bird, known simply as "Pink Bird," will be debuting in a forthcoming update for the game. There's no word yet as to when the update will be released, but Angry Birds fans shouldn't have to wait too much longer. Rovio promised it will be coming around the back-to-school timeframe.

Rovio has been promoting Pink Bird as the icon on its Angry Birds Twitter feed and Facebook page. The company also released a new video showing off the blue-eyed, bubble-toting Pink Bird. In the video (below), Pink Bird uses an egg-shaped bubble as a weapon to distract the evil pigs. It's not clear how Pink Bird and her bubbles will be used in the actual game.

The video's description reads, "Coming soon: Head back to school with Angry Birds Seasons and the all new Pink Bird!"

Rovio has been busy as of late. The company back in July debuted its first non-Angry Birds fare, a physics-based puzzle game for iOS and Android called Amazing Alex.

Meanwhile, on the Angry Birds front, Rovio sent its beloved pig-popping game on a beach vacation with the launch of 15 earlier this month. The Finnish game developer also recently announced it is gearing up to release a this fall.

Early last month, Activision partnered with Rovio to bring the Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, and Angry Birds trilogy to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo 3DS by the end of the year.
