Wallace had his first contact with sports in track and field. In 1999, he started playing volleyball for Olympikus (RJ) and the following season he collected the gold medal at the Youth South American Championship with Brazil. In 2001, as a player of Unisul (SC), Wallace helped Brazil to win the FIVB Volleyball Boys' Youth World Championship. He also played for the Brazilian junior team, winning gold in the South American Championship, in 2002, and silver in the World Championship, in 2003. After playing in Italy for Lupi and Argentina for Dream Bolivar, Wallace returned home in 2010 to play for Sesi-SP.
