Miller in action for Hibernian

Hibernian midfielder Liam Miller has revealed that he wishes to remain at Easter Road.

Miller is one of thirteen Hibs players whose contracts expire this summer but the Irishman insists that he is happy and settled in Edinburgh.

Miller told BBC Scotland:"I'm really enjoying it here. I'm settled and get on well with the lads and the manager.

"Things are a bit open just now but hopefully they will get sorted soon. I've had no offers from elsewhere."

Miller, who arrived at Easter Road in 2009, revealed that manager Colin Calderwood has urged him to remain at the club.

The 30-year-old said: "The boss spoke to me back in January and told me that he'd like to keep me. So hopefully we can sort something out before the end of the season."

Hibs have had a largely inconsistent campaign with the Leith side currently on a six-match unbeaten run after recovering from a poor start to the season, which had them languishing just above the relegation zone.

Miller accredits this improvement in form to a unity and strong team spirit within the Easter Road dressing room.

He said:"We've had our ups and downs this year but we've picked up some wins recently which has helped us gain momentum. At the moment there's a good atmosphere in the dressing room and confidence is high."

It is now almost a fortnight since Hibs last played a competitive match with Wednesday's trip to Celtic Park delayed due to Celtic's rearranged Scottish Cup meeting with Inverness taking place on that night.

In an attempt to keep his players fresh and with an Edinburgh derby on the horizon, Calderwood has arranged a friendly match with Miller's countrymen, Irish side Bohemians, which will take place on Monday.

Despite admitting that he knows very little about his side's next opponents, Miller is relishing the prospect of taking on his compatriots and getting back out on the park.

He said:"I don't know much about Bohemians if I'm honest. I saw them in a match last season and they looked like a good football side. It'll make a nice change from playing teams in the SPL. I'm looking forward to it."

Meanwhile, the Scottish Premier League has announced that the postponed match with Celtic will now take place on 6 April.
