UFC Fight Night 43 draws reported 8,089 attendance for $913,000 live gate

AUCKLAND, New Zealand – Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 43 event drew an announced attendance of 8,098 and a live gate of $1.04 million New Zealand dollars, which is the equivalent of nearly $913,000 U.S.

UFC executive Tom Wright announced the figures at the night’s post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie attended.

UFC Fight Night 43 took place at Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand. It was the UFC’s debut in the country.

The card featured a middleweight main event between Nate Marquardt and New Zealand native James Te Huna. Marquardt upset Te Huna with a first-round armbar.

While the number of “comp” or free tickets was not revealed, the figures represent an average revenue of $112.74 U.S. per ticket issued.
