Pikotaro’s “PPAP (Pen Pineapple Apple Pen)” Debuts On Billboard Hot 100

The viral comedy sensation “PPAP (Pen Pineapple Apple Pen)” is officially one of the Top 100 songs in America.

Credited to Pikotaro, “PPAP” debuts at #77 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100.

The Hot 100 ranks songs based on combined activity from sales, streaming and radio airplay. The lion’s share of “PPAP” activity is obviously coming on the streaming front.

“PPAP” is one of several new arrivals on this week’s Hot 100. Other debuts include Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” (#5), John Legend’s “Love Me Now” (#55), Maroon 5’s “Don’t Wanna Know (featuring Kendrick Lamar)” (#56), Brad Paisley’s “Today” (#70), Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons” (#77), Jon Bellion’s “All Time Low” (#82), and Zara Larsson’s “Ain’t My Fault” (#85).

Headline Planet will report any other debuts — as well as key chart moves — throughout Tuesday morning.
