On 16 April 1970, a fresh carcase of an adult female of Japanese serow, Capricornis crispus (TEMMINCK, 1845), was found at an elevation of 1600m near Konsei Pass, Nikko-National Park, Tochigi Prefecture.
The stomach contained a large quantity of plant materials. The contents were examined and the main plant species were identified (Fig. 1 and Table 1) .
