|This is the incredible moment a juvenile ostrich attempts to outrun a coalition of cheetahs that forms a central part of the latest BBC programme to be presented by Sir David Attenborough.
Called Attenborough's Big Birds the programme follows the story of flightless birds from ostriches to kiwis and how they continue to survive in the wild, writes What's On.
It is a story, produced by Bristol-based Natural World, that has long captivated the legendary wildlife presenter and looks at birds from the rhea in South America to cassowaries in Australia.
The success of this family of flightless birds, the programme states, is largely due to some bizarre breeding behaviour and very complicated relationships.
But it not only looks at the modern plight of the species but explores their past as well, including the fact their ancestors could fly leading to their modern dispersal across the world.
Attenborough's Big Birds airs at 8pm on BBC Two on June 16.
