On Dec. 10, Disney revealed that there will be ten Star Wars series on Disney+ over the next few years. Two new titles revealed during an investor day presentation were Rangers of the New Republic and Ahsoka, centering on Rosario Dawson's fan-favorite character. Both will take place within the timeline of The Mandalorian and are from executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.
Heat Vision breakdown
Now, the final moments of The Mandalorian season two have revealed another series. (Final warning for spoilers.)
The Book of Boba Fett will launch in December 2021, and star Temuera Morrison as the fan-favorite character. The announcement comes one day after the death of Jeremy Bulloch, the British actor who played the character in the original trilogy.
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy previously said The Mandalorian season three would debut Christmas 2021, so it appears December will be packed with Star Wars on Disney+. It is unknown if Book of Boba Fett is a limited or ongoing series.
Other Star Wars series in the works from the streaming service include a limited Obi-Wan series starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, a Rogue One prequel Andor starring Diego Luna, and Leslye Headland's The Acolyte, described as a mystery thriller set in the final days of the High Republic era.
