Interplay Announces Street Date for Shattered Steel tm ; Game Blasts into Retail September 27!

Irvine, California -- Interplay Productions announced today the street date for its breakthrough mech-action title Shattered Steel`. Featuring enough innovative technology to blow away the action game genre, Shattered Steel will blast into retail Friday, September 27, 1996 amidst tremendous response from gamers on-line.

"We're tremendously excited about the launch of this franchise," noted Charlene Steele, director of marketing for Interplay. "The word from gamers on-line is that they are also very excited about it. The hype is building on one of the biggest titles of this year."

Developed by BioWare, Shattered Steel is the adrenaline-pounding mech-action title that features Voxel graphics and utilizes a custom creation device that combines Voxel routines and real-time polygonal shading methods in its Terraform Engine`. This latest advance in technology provides gamers with 50 heart-pounding missions plus 15 multi-player missions in a fully navigable, ultra-realistic Voxel-rendered terrain that simulates any natural geography. Unlike other titles, in Shattered Steel gamers will inflict real-time terrain damage to the environment when tactical nukes blast huge holes in the landscape, leaving pits of burned-out wreckage in their wake.

With up to 16-player anarchy death-matches, team matches, and head-to-head modem warfare, Shattered Steel looks to raise the standard for mech-sim action titles.
