Former Blue Jays All-Star Devon White joins Bisons as hitting coach

Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins says they're actively still looking for creative ways to upgrade the club, and outlines depth in the bullpen and even in starting pitching is what they're working towards.

Former Toronto Blue Jays All-Star and seven-time Gold Glove winner Devon White will make his coaching debut with the organization, joining the Buffalo Bisons this season as hitting coach.

White played five seasons with the Blue Jays between 1991 and 1995, winning two championships and five Gold Glove awards in centre field. He won a third World Series with the Florida Marlins in 1997 and slashed .263/.319/.419 over his 17-year career.

Since retiring, White has remained involved with the Blue Jays organization, and has worked as a guest instructor for amateur players at Tournament 12, which takes place annually at Rogers Centre.

The Bisons also announced pitching coach and Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer Bob Stanley will return for his third season with the team.
