JOHAN ELMANDER became Bolton Wanderers' latest signing after joining Gary Megson's men earlier today for an undisclosed fee.

The Sweden international, who recently represented his country in the 2008 European Championships, signed a three-year deal from French top flight outfit Toulouse FC.

The 27 year-old forward started his career in his home country with spells at Holmalunds IF and Orgryte IS before moving to the Netherlands to play for Feyenoord. After a four-year spell with the Dutch giants, during which time he enjoyed loan spells with Djurgarden and NAC Breda, he signed for Danish outfit Brondby.

With the Danes he picked up league and cup winners' medals as well as being named as the club's Player of the Year in the 2004-2005 season.

His 22 goals in 58 games attracted the attention of several European sides with French side Toulouse eventually getting their man on a four-year deal in July 2006.

The tall Swede helped Toulouse to qualify for the Champions League when he netted a hat-trick in a 3-1 victory against Bordeaux on the final day of the 2006/2007 season.

He joins Wanderers with Norwegian international Daniel Braaten moving the other way in a cash plus player deal.

Megson said: "Johan is a player I have admired for a long time. He's a player who will get us goals and also create other opportunities for his team-mates.

"I am still on the look out for other players to boost the quality of our squad."

Elmander joins fellow new signing Fabrice Muamba at the Reebok Stadium following the England under 21 international's £5 million move earlier in the month.
