In conjunction with Nintendo, Rare has begun work on Ultra Donkey Kong exclusively for 64DD.
The game will continue its action-platform style of gameplay, and will take advantage of the 64DD in ways which Nintendo has not yet explained.
Ultra Donkey Kong looks to arrive in Japan first, followed by a U.S. release, and will appear some time after the 64DD launches in Japan next March. It's likely the game will arrive closer to the winter holiday 1998.
Nintendo Ltd. Co. has announced the first four titles to simultaneously arrive with the 64DD launch in March 1998. Those titles are: Sim City, Mario Paint 64, Earthbound 64 (Mother 3), and Pocket Monsters 64. Nintendo has not yet announced any news regarding Ultra Donkey Kong.
Nintendo of America did not return phone calls regarding Ultra Donkey Kong or the 64DD.
