Georgia Burn Ban Outdoor Burning GuidelinesThe Johns Creek Fire Department (JCFD) was launched October 7, 2008. Prior to that, life safety and fire protection services were provided by Fulton County for more than 30 years.
The JCFD is led by Fire Chief Joseph Daniels who served many years in the Johns Creek community as a Fulton County Battalion Chief before helping establish the JCFD. He has more than 25 years of professional firefighting experience in Metro Atlanta.
Seventy-eight firefighters and two administrators make up the JCFD, housed at three fire stations (see map):
Twenty-six members of the Department are licensed paramedics, with 43 members licensed as intermediate EMTs (emergency medical technicians).
With the launch of the department, the City purchased two custom-made Pierce 100-foot ladder trucks, three custom-made Pierce engines and two transport capable Rescues, sometimes referred to as Quick Response Vehicles (QRVs), which, in the event of a delay in ambulance service, can transport a critically injured person to a hospital.
Ambulance service in Johns Creek is provided by Rural/Metro Corporation.
All 911 calls placed within the jurisdiction of Johns Creek are dispatched to police, fire and emergency responders by ChatComm, the city's joint 911 Emergency Communications Center with Sandy Springs, Ga.
