Sometimes, the love of your child makes you do weird things, even change your identity. That was the truth portrayed by Irrfan in his true-to-life performance in Hindi Medium. He was at his mercurial best, changing from one persona to another in the blink of an eye and made it all seem super easy.
Ranbir plays a boy detective in this film which is said to be based on events surrounding the Purulia Arms Drop incident which happened in 1995. The film called for some clever comic timing from Ranbir, as well as dramatic proficiency and Ranbir came through on both fronts.
It’s hard to get lost in the urban jungle but Rajkummar Rao got trapped in one such scenario where he’s locked inside a flat on the top floor with no means of escape left to him. His mood shifts in such a situation were relatable and hence no wonder the critics liked his gritty performance.

Honesty is said to be the best policy but sometimes rigid adherence to it can lead a man in a sea of troubles. That’s what happens to Rajkummar Rao’s character when he tries to hold the elections by the book in a Naxal dominated area.
