Barrett Rifles - History
Headquartered in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Barrett Firearms Manufacturing is the world's leader in large-caliber rifle design and manufacturing. Well-known for .50 caliber rifles, the company now produces rifles in .416 Barrett and 6.8 SPC calibers and is a growing innovator in the design and production of optics for long-range shooters.

Founded in 1982, Ronnie Barrett's bold idea of a shoulder-fired .50 caliber rifle led to the now celebrated Model 82 rifle. Thousands of rifles later, and well-earned brand loyalty for the company that bears his name, he has become a hallmark in weapons manufacturing. Often quoted in the national media, he is a noted defender of the United States Constitution, particularly its Second Amendment.

Ronnie, his employees, and his rifles have accomplished much in the past 25 years. The United States Army named the Barrett M107 as one of the Top Ten Greatest Inventions of 2005. Ronnie's success as a manufacturer and exporter has been recognized by area chambers of commerce. The National Industrial Defense Association honored him as Man of the Year with The Colonel George Chinn Award. In 2006, Ernst & Young recognized his success as one of the Southeast's Entrepreneurs of the Year.

Driven by Ronnie Barrett's vision, Barrett Manufacturing continues to innovate and expand. Talented employees work in a multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art manufacturing complex covering almost 70,000 square feet. Research and development is well-funded and exciting new products are on the drawing board. Indeed, the future is bright at Barrett Manufacturing.
