Workarounds

To run properly all Office suite products we need to do:

winetricks win7

winetricks msxml6 msftedit riched20 riched30 vb6run corefonts

and edit the Registry like this:

Fix Black Window

In order to fix the black window that impedes Office 13 to be used, add the HKCU\Software\Wine\Direct3D\MaxVersionGL new DWORD value 30002 (hexa) to the registry.
Here's how to do this: In Winetricks select Run regedit and wait for the Registry Editor window to open. In the folder tree expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER - Software - Wine and create a new key in the Wine folder. To do so, right click, select new-->key and name it Direct3D. Now create new-->DWORD Value, rename the file to MaxVersionGL and set the value data to 30002 (hexadecimal). Close the Registry Editor window.

HowTo / Notes

Guidelines for Submitting Test Reports

  1. Test in a clean wineprefix, using plain Wine.
  2. Specify exactly which edition of Office you tested (Standard, Pro, etc.). This is crucial--bugs that affect one edition may not affect others.
  3. Specify exactly what type of install you tested (Typical, Custom, Minimal, etc.)
  4. Limit your report to the installer only. Reports on the performance of individual apps should be filed under their respective AppDB entries. Problems with running any of the apps should only be mentioned if it is clear that it is due to a problem with the installer.
  5. If you used any overrides during the install, please list them and explain exactly what problem each override was needed to solve.
  6. Test reports that do not follow these guidelines will be rejected.

Is it really 64bit installation or only 64bit bottle?

Actually 64bit installation requieres NDR64 that is not implemented, so how you did get to it works?
Any status update with Wine 2.0?
by Lithi on Saturday February 4th 2017, 20:41
No one has any updates to this after the release of Wine 2.0? It's supposed to work now but in my own attempts it is not running. Not sure if some extra components are needed or tweaks in winecfg.

I made some progress trying various tweaks. It's possible some of the issues are unique to the drivers for my graphics hardware (AMD GPU), as some of the internet search results suggest some nVidia users running proprietary drivers have had success getting Office 2013 to work.

Only info I found so far is here: askubuntu.com/a/882084. What settings did you use?
