On Friday (Dec. 29), BTS surprised fans with rock remixes of some of the group's biggest hits of the year.

The seven men performed the updated version of several songs, including “Not Today” and their Hot 100-charting “DNA,” at the 2017 KBS Song Festival, accompanied by a live band.

The Korean septet was also accompanied for renditions of "Spring Day," while smaller groups of members performed “Lost” and “Cypher Part 4” off of 2016’s Wings album; vocalists Jungkook, Jimin, Jin and V sang the former while rappers J-Hope, RM and Suga delivered the latter.

The set, one of the longest of the night, saw BTS don multiple outfits, including matched military uniforms.

The annual year-end festival held by the Korean Broadcasting Station took place at KBS Hall in Seoul, South Korea, on Friday.

The event was was hosted by a variety of idols, including BTS's Jin, EXO's Chanyeol, Red Velvet's Irene, TWICE's Sana, Mamamoo's Solar, Seventeen's Mingyu, GFriend's Yerin and Wanna One's Kang Daniel. Along with BTS, it also featured performances by Mamamoo, HyunA, Seventeen, GFriend, Red Velvet, TWICE, EXO, Hwang Chiyeol and the contestants of KBS’ The Unit. Taemin was previously set to perform, but pulled out of the lineup due to the sudden death of his fellow SHINee member, Jonghyun.

The festival aired a tribute to commemorate SHINee’s Jonghyun, who passed away earlier this month. The artist died in an apparent suicide on Dec. 18 while suffering from depression.
