Nine PCL pitchers worked one inning apiece, allowing just five hits, and leading the home PCL All-Stars to a 5-0 victory over the IL squad in just the second shutout in All-Star Game history. The game was scoreless through the first five and a half innings before the PCL plated three runs in the bottom of the sixth off of Indianapolis' Derrin Ebert. Iowa's Bobby Hill led off the PCL half of the inning with a walk, then advanced to third on a single by Mike Ryan (Edmonton). Robb Quinlan (Salt Lake) and Jack Cust (Colorado Springs) both singled, driving home Hill and Ryan. Hometown favorite Hank Blalock grounded into a double play, scoring Quinlan to complete the scoring in the inning. PCL relievers Frank Lankford (Sacramento), Bart Miadich (Salt Lake), and Manny Aybar (Fresno) allowed just one hit over the final three frames to preserve the victory. The home team got single runs in the seventh and eighth innings to complete the margin. In the seventh, Nashville's Mendy Lopez doubled and scored on Fresno catcher Edwards Guzman's single while Cust's solo homer accounted for the run in the eighth. The victory was the PCL Stars fourth straight in the series. After going 2-2 with a pair of RBI, Cust was named PCL "Star of Stars" and Maurice LaCroix Lou Gehrig Batter-of-the-Game. RedHawks starter Aaron Myette opened the game on the mound for the PCL and struck out the side to earn Pitcher-of-the-Game honors. Richmond's Doug Linton was a bright spot in defeat, striking out three in two innings of work and was named the IL "Star of Stars".

The visiting PCL All-Stars limited the IL to four hits to win their third consecutive All-Star tilt in front of nearly 16,000 fans in Indianapolis. Both teams scored unearned runs in the first inning with the PCL's tally coming when Nashville's Tike Redman crossed the plate on an error by IL catcher Toby Hall. Durham's Hall reached on an error in the bottom of the frame, then scored on a mammoth home run by Louisville's Adam Dunn. The PCL took the lead in the fourth on a two-run homer by PCL "Star of Stars" winner Juan Thomas (Tacoma) before the IL evened the score at 3 apiece on Dunn's second home run of the game a half inning later. The visitors hit Columbus' Brett Jodie hard in the fifth & sixth innings, scoring a total of four runs. The PCL squad scored two more in the top of the ninth while home town favorite Mike Coolbaugh ended the scoring with a 2-run homer in the bottom of the inning. Dunn's 2 HR earned him IL "Star of Stars" and Maurice LaCroix Lou Gehrig Batter-of-the-Game honors while Iowa's Ruben Quevedo (3 IP, 1 ER) was named Pitcher-of-the-Game. Both IL starter Brandon Duckworth (Scranton/WB) and PCL reliever Johnny Ruffin (Calgary) set Triple-A All-Star Game records by striking out five opponents in their 2 innings pitched.

The 13th Annual Triple-A All-Star proved to be disappointing for the home club as seven PCL hurlers held the IL club scoreless through the first seven innings en route to an 8-2 victory in a sloppy game (7 errors) in Rochester. The two clubs traded "0's" during the first three innings as Red Wings' pitchers Josh Towers and Javier DeLaHoya (2 IP, 1 K to earn IL "Star of Stars" honors) allowed no hits to the PCL Stars. The second time through the order the hits came as the visitors scored single runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth frames. A double by Jose Ortiz (Sacramento) followed by a single off the bat of Luis Raven (Calgary) opened the scoring in the fourth. PCL "Star of Stars" winner Joe Vitiello (Las Vegas) was the hitting star, missing the cycle by a home run, and had a key double in the eighth inning as the PCL plated four runs off of Durham's Bill Taylor to break the game open. The home team got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the eighth as Norfolk's Ryan McGuire singled home Bill Selby (Buffalo) and came around to score on Ortiz' error. Vitiello and DeLaHoya were named the Maurice LaCroix Lou Gehrig Batter and Pitcher-of-the-Game. In another interesting note, outfielder Ruben Sierra (Oklahoma) became the first player to appear in the Triple-A All-Star Game after playing in the Major League All-Star Game ('89, '91, '92, & '94).

In a year of record-setting offensive numbers, the PCL and IL squads combined to score 14 runs in the 12th Annual contest in New Orleans. The IL Stars jumped out to the early lead, taking a 1-0 advantage on D.T. Cromer's (Indianapolis) RBI grounder in the first off of Memphis' Larry Luebbers. The PCL Stars countered with three runs in their half of the first off of IL starter Micah Bowie (Richmond) with the big blast coming from PCL "Star of Stars" award winner Daryle Ward. New Orleans' Ward, a late addition to the PCL Squad, hit a three-run homer that almost landed in the right field swimming pool and plated Albuquerque's Shawn Gilbert and Vancouver's Frank Menechino. Each team scored in the fifth, before a pair of homers gave the IL Stars a 5-4 lead in the eighth inning. Buffalo's Russell Branyan, the IL "Star of Stars" recipient, had a solo home run while Ottawa's Geoff Blum hit a two-run shot. The floodgates opened in the bottom of the frame with the PCL Stars scoring five times off of a pair of IL relievers to take a four run lead. Edmonton's Scott Brow and Fresno's Cory Bailey combined to pitch a scoreless ninth, preserving the PCL victory.

In the first game matching stars from the IL and PCL, the home team jumped to an early 3-0 lead and held on for an 8-4 victory in the 11th annual Triple-A All-Star Game. In between runs scored by Allen Battle (Ottawa) and Willis Otanez (Rochester), Columbus' Mike Lowell hit a solo home run in the first inning to give the IL stars the lead. The PCL chipped away at the margin with runs in the third and fourth frames off of Calvin Maduro (Scranton/WB), but the IL countered with two more of its own in the fifth. The IL tallied another three runs in the seventh on RBI from Charlotte's Alex Gonzalez, Battle, and Lowell, the IL MVP. Oklahoma's Warren Newson hit a solo home run in the eighth to narrow the gap but IL pitchers Shannon Withem (Syracuse) and Todd Williams (Indianapolis) shut out the opposition from that point. IL starter Joel Bennett (Rochester) pitched two shutout innings to earn the win, while Salt Lake's Travis Baptist took the loss. Colorado Springs' SS Terry Shumpert earned PCL MVP honors with a home run in the third inning. Pre-game festivities included the wedding of Tides' OF Benny Agbayani and the unveiling of the Triple-A World Series logo.
