Compare allows you to play two different videos simultaneously, either side by side, or overlaid.

To compare files, right click on the active file in the Playlist Viewer and select Compare. Alternatively click the Manage Media button and select Compare.

This allows you to select the second file from various locations from outside the cineSync playlist.

For files already added into cineSync either select the two files and select 'Compare Selected Files' or select 'Compare With File In Playlist'.

Select the file and click Compare.

'Compare With New File' - if the required file needs to be added to the cineSync playlist.

Select the file from the file system, which will load into cineSync.

'Compare With ShotGrid Version' - if the required file is hosted in ShotGrid.
The ShotGrid browser will open, you will be asked to login to ShotGrid if not logged in already. Navigate to the required file and click 'Add and Compare'.

'Compare With ftrack Version' - if the required file is hosted in ftrack.
The ftrack browser will open, you will be asked to login to ftrack if not logged in already. Navigate to the required file and click 'Add and Compare'.

Once the file is selected from any of the various locations, cineSync will load the file with the active file in Compare mode.

You can see which files they are in the Playlist viewer.

To change any of the Compare options, right click on the movie window and select Compare, or use the Compare option in the playlist viewer.

Here you can -
Set either the Left or Right Frame as the Active frame (ie which frame has control)
Change the Compare mode from Side By Side to Stacked and the Opacity (25% / 50% or 75%).

Stop the compare will remove the second file from the viewing window (but not from the playlist), as will using the keyboard shortcut (Control/Shift + S on OSX or Alt/Shift + S on Windows).
