MIR.1200

as

Czech project with Russian design

The subject of the public tender on Temelín NPP completion are design, documentation, engineering, equipment manufacturing, procurement, construction, site installation, testing and commissioning of two complete NPP units (Unit 3 and 4) in the form of EPC turn-key supply, including fuel assemblies.

Both units shall have the same design - with the concept of presurized light-water reactor (PWR). The net electric output of each unit is to exceed 1.000 MWe.

A part of the order is the contracting entity’s right of option for construction of up to three additional nuclear units in other potential locations in Europe by same supplier.

The anticipated commissioning of the third and fourth unit in Temelín is expected in 2019 and 2020, respectively.

MIR.1200 represents an evolutionary design, coming out of well proven solutions with increased safety. It is a unique combination of state-of-the-art active and passive safety systems, which makes it one of the best representants of the Generation III+ reactors.
