Vorm posts emotional message on Instagram as Tottenham end season with win

Tottenham Hotspur ended a dismal Premier League campaign with an excellent 4-2 away win over Leicester City on Sunday afternoon – and Michel Vorm has uploaded a touching post on Instagram, after a stint as goalkeeping coach.

Vorm, 37, announced his retirement from professional football in October 2020 after his contract at Spurs had expired. The Dutch goalkeeper clocked up 48 outings for Spurs over the course of the six seasons he was a player.

He even left and then rejoined in 2019 and this season, he rejoined the club less than a year after retiring – being installed as interim goalkeeping coach following the exit of Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff.

But with the season ending and Ryan Mason’s interim spell as manager coming to an end, Vorm also departs. However, he has sent a message to Levy and Spurs that whenever they need him, he is ready to return.

TBR’s view – Where will Spurs go now?

Vorm might have a future at Spurs if Daniel Levy pursues a manager that knows the Dutchman. Perhaps a Scott Parker might look to keep Vorm – but should Levy look elsewhere, then they might bring in their own staff.

Realistically, it looks as if Spurs will go abroad to hire their next manager. Many reports state that a decision will be made this week, and that it will be a manager currently in a job. An interesting next few weeks for the club.
