REVA HISTORY
The REVA is the brainchild of Flip Marx – CEO of ICP.
Collectively, he and his team of former Special Forces servicemen have over 50 years’ experience in military vehicle application
and development. In October 2004, a renowned security company identified the need for a vehicle to protect their
personnel during the Iraqi conflict. Due to the heightened hostility in the area, an increase in IEDs and sniper
fire and the combination of urban and rural terrain, no existing vehicle could afford them the kind of
protection they required.
They approached Flip Marx, who with his tactical and technical Special Forces
background and expertise was uniquely equipped to find a solution. The result was the REVA Armored Personnel
Carrier with its solid monocoque hull and V-shape - a combat-proven anti-landmine design. The first REVA was manufactured and delivered
in December 2004 and immediately put into operation in Iraq.
The REVA proved its worth, and user-suggested additions, double-skin armoring and 63
mm armored, laminated glass was incorporated into the design. Thanks to valuable feedback from users and military
advisers, further essential features have been added to the vehicle’s design, and today various models of REVA are
being produced, including the REVA III, the REVA V, REVA VI, REVA Ambulance and the SUV.
REVA Armored Personnel Carriers have performed exceptionally in incidents involving
IEDs, land mines and vehicle-borne IEDs. In numerous incidents in Iraq and Thailand, there were no casualties, and
the vehicles were repaired and were back in operation within 10 days.
